What is privilege?

When people hear about my background, they immediately think I was born with a silver spoon in my mouth. I went to Oxford, you see, and before that to a pretty exclusive private school (pictured), and even before that to a private primary school. The ingredients of success

In my meanderings across the internet I just came across a great post on the nature of success and the influence of practice and external circumstances in achieving it. I’d recommend it – and also wanted to link to it for my own benefit so I can find it again! (am I the only person who bookmarks things obsessively and then never visits the bookmarked pages ever again??)

Perspective

Every now and then, I have a tendency to whine. I work too hard, life is tough, writing is difficult, etc etc. Also, every now and then, something happens to make me realise I have nothing whatsoever to complain about.
