Giveaway: Crow by Ted Hughes

crow

Happy Friday! Today I’m giving away a free copy of Crow, a beautiful collection of poems by Ted Hughes.

How to enter

Just leave a comment on this post. The winner will be drawn randomly, with tweets and other social media mentions counting as extra entries. So hit the Tweet button to the left of the screen if you want to increase your chances. I’ll let it run over the weekend, and announce the winner on Monday.

Why the giveaway?

Well, I’m trying to simplify my life and get rid of stuff, and part of that process is going through my bookshelves and getting rid of books that, realistically, I’m probably not going to read again. I’m selling some, and donating some to charity shops, and I thought I’d give some away on this blog too. If there’s a good response to this post, I’ll list some more giveaways over the next few weeks.

Crow is a book I’d really recommend reading. I don’t read a lot of poetry, but I enjoyed this one. I reviewed it on this blog a few years ago – click here to see what my thoughts on it were.

By the way, there are no geographical restrictions on this giveaway – it’s quite a light paperback, and I’m happy to ship it anywhere in the world. Good luck!

  1. I just picked this up at a used bookshop last weekend so don’t need to be entered. But cool you liked the book so much and yay for giving away poetry! 🙂

    1. How funny that you picked up the book just as I was getting ready to give it away! Perhaps we are experiencing some weird cosmic interconnectedness – or maybe it’s just a coincidence 🙂 Thanks for stopping by anyway, Stefanie, and hope you enjoy the book.

  2. I’m not familiar with the author, but I love poetry and can’t resist the idea of a free book. Count me in, Mr. Blackman!

  3. Thanks everyone for the entries. I assigned a number to each entry (with Roz getting an extra one for the tweet!) and generated a random number on random.org to pick the winner.

    And the winner is….

    Frederic Germay!

Congratulations, Frederic, and I’ll be in touch to get your address.

Everyone else, sorry you didn’t win this time, but do stay tuned for more giveaways…
